2021 Annual Meeting

 
The American Council on Addiction and Alcohol Problems Board of Directors met in business session by Zoom videoconferencing on Monday, September 20, 2021. The Board met in conference on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 to hear the following speakers:
  1. Ed Langton is the CEO and Chairman of the Board of Grand Bank for Savings in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Mississippi State Board of Health.
  2. Carson Benowitz-Fredericks is the Research Director at Alcohol Justice. He has worked for over a decade in substance abuse prevention and recovery.
  3. Lt. Nathan Kendrick is a Lieutenant with the Shelby County, Alabama, Sheriff's Office and assigned as the Assistant Director of Compact 2020.

Session 2 - Carson Benowitz-Fredericks spoke on Addressing alcohol harm through policy and environmental prevention strategies.
Session 3 - Lt. Nathan Kendrick spoke on Identifying juveniles engaged in substance misuse and intervening by connecting them with proven recovery and counseling before involvement in the justice system.
